Start on Site: Youth Infrastructure Fund
Youth Infrastructure Fund Pilot Project
00 are delighted to see two of our four Youth Infrastructure Fund projects now on site at Hangleton & Knowle, and Wisbech. This marks an exciting step in a pilot programme we have been developing with the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport to reimagine the future of youth facilities across the UK.
Through these pilots, YIF explores the use of MMC (Modern Methods of Construction) using volumetric offsite construction. By trialling different layouts, user requirements, and approaches to construction, the programme is building a toolkit of adaptable, robust, and environmentally responsible models for future youth facilities.
The Youth Investment Fund (YIF) is testing a series of new facility concepts, designed to meet the needs of youth organisations working with spaces from 100m² to 350m². Each pilot aims to be:
Flexible, meeting the diverse requirements of different youth organisations.
Straightforward, easy to commission and efficient to deliver.
Sustainable, with low environmental impact and efficient running costs.
