Neighbourhood Design Guide
The Neighbourhood Design Guide is a strategic briefing document, researched and written on behalf of Presentation Social Investment Agency (now part of Notting Hill Housing Group) by Architecture00, which highlights the added value affordable housing can bring, and its role in achieving a renaissance in the concept of sustainable and equitable neighbourhood. It comprised background research into trends and drivers, interviews with key internal and external stakeholders, workshops, and a review of current best practice, and serves as a toolkit of best and next practice design recommendations - both physical and social, offering a series of principles which guide how designers and social housing landlords and agencies address issues of providing inhabitable and sustainable environments, and integrating resident governance and the design process as central elements of delivering this vision.
