Alastair Parvin

Alastair is a strategic designer with 00, London.  Though he trained in architecture, his work extends outside its traditional framework, looking at the economic, social and technological systems behind it. He is a co-founder of WikiHouse (TED Cities 2.0 Prize, 2012) an open source construction system aimed at radically democratising high-performance construction, and lead author of ‘A Right to Build’ (RIBA President’s Award for Research, 2012), an ongoing research project exploring the potential of user and citizen-led development in UK housing and cities.

He has written for numerous architectural, design & policy journals, lectured widely and participated in government advisory forums on issues around cities, housing and strategic design.
