Priory Close on site / by Nick Ierodiaconou

Siberian winds hit the UK last week causing temperatures to plummet to around -10C with freezing fog. Whilst we shivered in the uninsulated concrete frame of the Barnet Passivhaus retrofit and new build, the importance of a highly insulating building fabric was obvious.

There being no windows on site did not aid the frozen toes situation -  That said, the project is coming along leaps and bounds with a close eye kept on taping and sealing to achieve the air tightness levels required whilst we eagerly await the massive triple glazed sliding windows which will form an incredible uninterrupted view into the garden.

This time next year the client will be bare foot and toasty warm whilst gazing out onto this incredible winter scene.
